Miquetes Màgiques is a long-running macrobiotic restaurant in el Guinardó, founded by chef Triu in 1995 after years cooking at the Guenmaï restaurant in Paris and studying at the René Levy macrobiotic school.

Background

About Miquetes Màgiques

The Story

Miquetes Màgiques has served macrobiotic lunches in el Guinardó since 1995, founded by chef Triu after four years cooking at the Guenmaï macrobiotic restaurant in Paris and two years of study at the René Levy macrobiotic school in Saint Gaudens. The small dining room next to the modernista Hospital de Sant Pau has kept the same quiet, home-cooked spirit across three decades.

The Cuisine

The kitchen follows classic macrobiotic principles: organic, local, seasonal ingredients balanced between yin and yang. The daily set menu (Menú Macrobiòtic) pairs a miso soup or vegetable cream with the Plat Miquetes, a composed plate of whole grains, cooked vegetables, legumes, sea vegetables, and an optional vegetable or fish delicatessen, followed by a sugar-free house-made dessert. Staples include miso, shoyu, seitan, tofu, umeboshi, and gomasio.

The Team

Chef and founder La Triu runs the kitchen, joined by long-time colleagues Teresa (nutritionist and cook, ten years at Miquetes) and Paula Gertel (cook and ceramist who has worked with Triu for fifteen years and makes some of the house tableware).
