Kibuka Goya is the original location of Kibuka Grup, opened in 2004 on Carrer Goya, 9 as the group's first foray into a Western-accented take on Japanese cooking in Barcelona.

First restaurant opened by Kibuka Grup (2004), now a group of five Barcelona locations

Background

About Kibuka

The Story

Kibuka Grup began in 2004 on Carrer Goya, 9 in Gràcia, founded on the idea of making Japanese cooking accessible while adding a Western accent. A year later a second restaurant opened on Carrer Verdi, 64, and over two decades the group has grown to five distinct concepts across Barcelona: the original sushi house on Goya, a second sushi restaurant on Verdi, a Sant Martí location on Llull, an izakaya and ramen shop on Sant Domènec, and Fast Kibuka for takeaway and delivery.

The Cuisine

The Goya menu leans into sushi cut to order and an extensive maki and uramaki selection, with Mediterranean and fusion twists such as the Mexican uramaki with avocado, spicy chipotle and salmon ceviche or the Italiano uramaki with buffalo mozzarella and basil. Alongside the cold bar there is a full kitchen of gyoza, yakisoba, yaki udon, tempura, chicken karaage and rice-based dishes. Vegetarian and gluten-free options are clearly marked throughout the carta.
