The Story
Flash Flash opened in 1970, founded by four friends from Barcelona's creative scene: architect Alfonso Milá, Cecilia Santo Domingo, photographer Leopoldo Pomés and Karin Leiz. Their idea was a restaurant built around the largest and most varied tortilla menu in the city, with a kitchen that never closed during service hours and design to match. Federico Correa and Alfonso Milá designed the white minimalist interior; Leopoldo Pomés shot the life-size silhouette images on the walls, with Karin Leiz as the original 'Flash Flash girl' now synonymous with the restaurant.
The Cuisine
The menu lists more than fifty different tortillas alongside the house burgers, salads and a rotating selection of daily specials drawn from Mediterranean, market-fresh cooking. Tortillas run from classic Spanish potato to sweet versions for dessert.
