Don Giovanni opened in April 2023 as the Barcelona outpost of Sicilian chef Andrea Tumbarello, known as 'the Truffle King' (il Re del Tartufo). Born in 1964 in Marsala, Sicily, Tumbarello trained in economics before pivoting to gastronomy. In 2005, he took over a trattoria near his home in Madrid's Retiro district and built it into a reference for Italian cuisine in Spain, earning 2 Repsol Soles. The Barcelona location inside NH Barcelona Stadium brings his signature truffle-forward Italian cooking near Camp Nou. He also operates a location in Soldeu, Andorra.
