Background

About Casa Tejada

The Story

Casa Tejada was founded in 1964 and relaunched in September 2025 under Chef Romain Fornell and his Gout Rouge group. The new format positions the restaurant between a bistro, an osteria, and a tapas bar. The dining room keeps the classic bistro codes, leather banquettes, soft lighting, white tablecloths, and walls lined with framed portraits of figures from different eras, and is complemented by a street terrace and a chef's table set directly in front of the kitchen.

The Cuisine

Mediterranean cooking with an Italian core, layered with French, Spanish, and Catalan touches. The carta moves across antipasti (burrata with cherry tomatoes, vitello tonnato, Harry's Bar carpaccio, Balfegó tuna carpaccio, Joselito Iberian ham, crab biscuit with curry and avocado), pastas and risottos (oven-baked lasagna, spaghetti alla carbonara, ossobuco ravioli with beurre blanc, linguine alle vongole, Fettuccine Alfredo 'as in Rome', classic parmesan risotto), and main dishes (sea bass with beurre blanc, tuna loin with pepper sauce, 500g entrecôte tagliata with Café de Paris sauce, classic filet au poivre, beef tartare).

The Team

Chef Romain Fornell (Gout Rouge group, which also runs the 1 Michelin star Caelis) created the menu for the relaunched Casa Tejada. The group took over the dining room in September 2025 while preserving much of the historic interior.
