Born Street Food turns Pla de Palau into an open-air kitchen the weekend before La Mercè. More than a dozen restaurants and gourmet shops from El Born cook on the street from midday to 11pm, a spread that runs from Basque grills and market rice to Mexican and Japanese robata, with local DJs playing through the day. Each lunchtime at 12:30 there are guided tastings pairing Mediterranean, Atlantic and Priorat wines with artisan cheeses. It is a street event, so entry is free and you pay per dish at each stall.
