Biography

Early years

Peña was born in Rubí (Vallès Occidental) in 1981 and trained at the Hofmann school in Barcelona.

Career

Peña joined Hacienda Benazuza in Sevilla in 2004 — the Adrià brothers' Andalusian project — and went on to take charge of the kitchen at 41º Experience in Barcelona in 2012, working with Albert Adrià for more than a decade across 41º, Tickets, and Enigma. Enigma earned a Michelin star under his direction. When Albert Adrià reopened Enigma in 2022 Peña started as an advisor at Teatro Kitchen Bar — the Iglesias brothers' project — where he became head chef and helped the restaurant earn a Michelin star before it closed. He has since started Mineral, his own restaurant project, and continues as a consulting chef at Can Bo inside the Grand Hotel Central on Via Laietana.

Philosophy

Peña's cooking is rooted in the elBulli-tradition technique of his Adrià years — long, multi-course tasting formats built around precision and concept. The consultancy work and Can Bo advisory role apply that fine-dining training to hotel and group restaurant operations.
