Biography
Early years
Casella cooked at the Michelin-starred Hisop in Barcelona, where she became jefa de cocina (head chef), before partnering with Iván García to open their own restaurant.
Career
Casella and García later cooked together at Cucine Nervi and spent roughly a year living in Italy, an experience that shapes the cooking at Glug. In June 2024 they opened Glug on Carrer de París in la Nova Esquerra de l'Eixample — a 38-seat space built almost entirely around the bar where the chefs cook and plate in front of guests. In late 2024 the couple were jointly named 'Cuiner 2024' at the Fòrum Gastronòmic Barcelona, and Glug earned a Michelin Bib Gourmand in the 2026 Spain guide.
Philosophy
At Glug the cooking is designed for sharing — Casella's Italian register sits on top of a Catalan product base. The format keeps the kitchen in direct contact with guests at the bar, with signature dishes including stuffed Gordal olives with Catalan-style chicken and an onion soup with Comté buttons.
