Terrae in Port de Pollença earns a Michelin Green Star
Terrae, David Rivas's restaurant in Port de Pollença, received a Michelin Green Star in the 2026 guide, one of four sustainability distinctions on the island.
Terrae in Port de Pollença, directed by chef David Rivas, was newly recognised with a Michelin Green Star in the 2026 guide, the distinction Michelin gives for sustainable gastronomy.
The award was announced on 25 November 2025 at the Michelin Guide Spain ceremony held in Málaga. The Green Star category, introduced in 2020, recognises restaurants that excel in sustainable practices, and Terrae was the only new Green Star awarded in the Balearic Islands that year.
Terrae describes itself as farm-to-table, with a menu that changes almost daily depending on what is available from Mallorca's small-scale producers. The kitchen works without chemical products or additives, prioritises kilometer-zero sourcing and aims for zero waste, and Rivas often finishes dishes at the table himself.
Rivas was born in Venezuela, trained in Barcelona and developed his cooking further in Norway and Hong Kong before arriving in Mallorca, coming to see sustainability as "a responsibility" rather than an optional extra for a kitchen.
It joins three other Mallorca restaurants holding a Green Star: Andreu Genestra in Llucmajor, Béns d'Avall in Sóller, led by chef Benet Vicens, and Ca na Toneta, taking the island to four in total.
