Background

About El Punto Guay

The Story

El Punto Guay is a Venezuelan street-food spot in Usera, and the venue also points diners to a sibling location near Mercado de Barceló. The kitchen leans into big, shareable portions, and bills its SÚPER SAIYAJIN pepito as a metre long and more than four kilos, a challenge aimed at anyone who always wants more.

The Cuisine

The food is Venezuelan comida rápida. Cachapas come folded around queso llanero, patacones arrive piled with carne mechada or pollo, and the parrilla La Sabrosa stacks beef, chicken, chorizo, yuca frita and cachapa on one plate. The Pepito Supremo is the house sandwich, and on Sundays the Usera kitchen makes sopa de cruzado.

Street Food, Venezuelan Style

The menu is built 'al estilo calle del hambre', the late-night street-food strips of Venezuelan cities: burgers, pepitos, hot dogs and salchipapas alongside cachapas, patacones and shared parrillas. The pepitos are the house signature, from the Pepito Supremo up to the SÚPER SAIYAJIN challenge, and Sundays bring sopa de cruzado.

Practicalities

It opens in the evening from 17:00 and runs to 01:00, closed Wednesdays. Orders can also go out through Uber Eats, there's free parking nearby, and the group has since opened a second place in Usera. Follow @elpuntoguay for specials.
