Fish from Ondarroa runs to grilled monkfish, hake Ondarroa-style, hake cogote from the grill and line-caught txipirones (€22.50 to €26.75). Bacalao comes al pil-pil, a la vizcaína, grilled or with txangurro (€23.50), or as a tasting. Meat includes a matured beef loin (€28), boneless txuletón (€24.50), lamb shoulder and a matured red-meat txuletón for two (€68). Rice dishes, for a minimum of two, are €22.50 to €25.50 a head.
Cider-house menus
Menu No. 1 (€37.50 a head, minimum two) brings Gernika peppers, salt-cod croquetas, fresh Getaria anchovies in season, a boneless txuletón, Idiazábal with quince, Rioja crianza, coffee and a house chupito. Menu No. 2 (€42, minimum two) offers a choice of starter and main, such as Iberian ham or shiitakes with foie, then txuletón, hake or bacalao al pil-pil, with Idiazábal cannoli for dessert and Verdejo or Rioja. Both are for the whole table. The wine list runs from Rioja, Ribera and Bierzo to Txakoli de Bizkaia, cava, champagne and cider.
