Abrasa is a contemporary asador from the GLH group, in the Aravaca Village hotel and market complex on Camino de la Zarzuela, in Valdemarín. The kitchen runs on charcoal and three levelled grills: hook-caught squid, sea bass, turbot for two, Iberian pluma, baby lamb chops over vine shoots and beef tenderloin. The bar takes its cue from Basque pintxo culture, and there are rice dishes for two and a weekday executive lunch menu. A sister Abrasa is in La Moraleja.

About Abrasa

The Story

Abrasa is one of GLH's restaurant brands, with two sites: this one in Aravaca and another in La Moraleja. GLH describes it as part of a new generation of contemporary asadores led by young grill cooks.

The Cuisine

A Basque-inspired asador: pintxos at the bar, then fish, seafood, meat and vegetables cooked over charcoal on three levelled grills, plus rice dishes and fideuá.

From the carta

Starters run from an anchovy gilda (€3.90) and a steak tartare bite topped with a gilda (€6.50) to Iberian ham, very creamy ham croquetas, Idiazábal fritters, grilled Tudela artichoke and Arbizu txistorra from the grill. From the fish counter come battered monkfish bites, Orio-style monkfish, grilled sea bass and a turbot for two (€74.15). Meat includes spring chicken with lemon thyme (€22.65), Iberian pluma (€27.30), baby lamb chops over vine shoots and beef tenderloin with confit garlic. Rice dishes, for a minimum of two, run €25.75 to €27.80 per person.

Executive menu and takeaway

A weekday executive lunch menu (not on holidays) costs €28 with a starter, main and dessert, a drink, bread and an aperitif; mains include coal-roasted spring chicken, grilled sea bass and grilled picanha. A takeaway menu covers croquetas, ensaladilla, rice dishes and desserts for pick-up at the restaurant.
