The Story
Santamaría is a classic-style cocktail bar in what was once a casa de citas, an old house of assignation, converted at the start of the 2010s. It sits in Malasaña, a street back from Gran Vía, between the Telefónica building and Plaza de Callao, and says its secret lies in an accumulation of small details.
The Cuisine
Cocktails only. The current carta, 'Metamorfosis', traces the bar's journey back to its origins, presenting several drinks in three readings: the classic version, a reinterpretation and a non-alcoholic alternative. The Bloody Mary is billed on the menu as the Comunidad de Madrid's best cocktail of 2024, and the espresso martini and gin and tonics have a following too.
