Bistro Mato opened in 2021 as the fifth restaurant of Grupo San Telmo, founded by Isidro Marques. The space has deep roots -- it was formerly Mato de Pedralbes, a legendary neighbourhood institution dating to 1981. Grupo San Telmo has operated in Barcelona since 2000 and runs seven venues across the city including Tantarantana (El Born), San Telmo (Eixample), El Canalla (Sarria), and El Cafe de l'Academia (Gotic). The restaurant carries on the original Pedralbes address with a Mediterranean bistro concept.
