Martín Berasategui's new Barcelona spot keeps every plate under €25
Bera, a more accessible format from Martín Berasategui (9 Michelin stars), opened at Passeig de Gràcia 75 inside Monument Hotel. The carte runs all day and no plate goes over €25.
Every plate on the carte at Bera comes in at €25 or less. That's the headline of Martín Berasategui's new Barcelona project, which opened on 21 April 2026 at Monument Hotel Barcelona, Passeig de Gràcia 75. It's pitched as a more accessible, all-day version of Berasategui's gastronomy, with no plate exceeding €25. Head chef Gabriele Milani, the hotel's resident chef, runs the kitchen day-to-day.
Bera sits in the same ground-floor space that used to be Oría, Berasategui's one-Michelin-star restaurant led by chef Xabi Goikoetxea. Oría closed in October 2025 for an aesthetic renovation tied to the hotel's tenth-anniversary cycle, and the Michelin star was withdrawn at the November 2025 gala. Combined with the closure of Etxeko at Bless Ibiza, that took Berasategui from 11 Michelin stars down to 9.
Interior design studio Berta Martí led the renovation, reorganising the lobby around a central bar at the back so the room can shift register through the day. The kitchen serves lunch and dinner; the bar runs continuously.
The menu spans pan con mantequilla a la sidra, anchoas del Cantábrico, gildas, bokata Martintxo with Galician beef, brioche de salmón marinado with smoked eel, tacos de steak tartar, kokotxas de bacalao, tataki de atún del Mediterráneo, presa ibérica a la brasa, and roast beef de Wagyu. Tarta tatin closes the dessert section.
Berasategui's framing of the project: 'Platos reconocibles, con precisión, pero sin rigidez' ('Recognisable dishes with precision but without rigidity'). The official site is berarestaurant.com.
