Biography

Early years

Ródenas was born in Barcelona in 1991 and studied at CETT, winning a CETT scholarship early in his training.

Career

Ródenas cooked at the three-Michelin-star DiverXO (Dabiz Muñoz) in Madrid, the Catalan classic Via Veneto, Caelis, and Marc Gascons's Informal in Barcelona. At 29 he won the Cordon Bleu Madrid 'Haute Cuisine Promise' award. In June 2020 he opened Maleducat next to Bodega d'En Rafael and the Sant Antoni market with brothers Ignacio and Marc García (dining room). The restaurant's name is an affectionate insult that became its identity. In 2025 the team announced a second project, Casa Fiero — a more flexible, family-friendly grilled-cooking concept — for the Eixample. Maleducat is in the Michelin Guide selection and Repsol Recomendado.

Philosophy

Ródenas's cooking combines technical, traditional, and Mediterranean influences in generously portioned plates designed for sharing — vermut with snacks, daily seasonal preparations, and a bold personal signature drawn from his time in starred kitchens.
