Macarena de Castro is the chef-owner of Maca de Castro in Port d'Alcúdia, where a single seasonal tasting menu draws on her own garden in Sa Pobla, the local fish auction, and small Mallorcan producers. In 2012 she earned the restaurant its first Michelin star, becoming the first woman in the Balearic Islands to do so; Maca de Castro now holds 1 Michelin star and 3 Repsol Soles. She also runs Andana, opened in a former train station building in Palma in 2020. In April 2024 she was elected president of Euro-Toques España, the first woman and the first chef from outside the Basque Country to lead the association.
