Estadio Metropolitano

The Estadio Metropolitano is the home stadium of Atlético Madrid in the San Blas-Canillejas district, holding 70,692 spectators for football. It was originally built between 1990 and 1993 to a design by Cruz y Ortiz as an athletics stadium, then closed in 2004 and rebuilt for football at a cost of €240 million, reopening as Atlético Madrid's ground on 16 September 2017 with a La Liga match against Málaga.
