At your next restaurant meal, don't just evaluate the food. After the meal. Not during, because during the meal you should just be present. Take a few minutes to reflect on all five dimensions:
- Food, what was the best dish? What was the weakest? Was the overall execution consistent?
- Beverage, did the drinks enhance the food? Was the list interesting? Did the staff help you choose well?
- Service, did you feel taken care of? Was the pacing right? Did the staff read your table correctly?
- Atmosphere, did the room feel right? Was the noise level comfortable? Did the lighting, music, and design support the experience?
- Value, knowing what you paid, would you come back? Would you recommend it?
This isn't a scoring exercise. You're not writing a review yet (that's Module 7). You're building the habit of noticing the complete experience. Training yourself to perceive the meal as a whole rather than just the food.
When you can do this naturally, without effort, you're ready to communicate it to others.
