Community Guidelines
Guidavera is built on trust. These guidelines exist to keep the community a place where quality contributions are rewarded and everyone feels welcome.
Be genuine
Share your real experiences. If you loved a restaurant, say why. If you didn’t, explain what fell short. Honest opinions — even strong ones — are welcome. Dishonest ones are not. Fake reviews, paid endorsements disguised as organic posts, and impersonation will result in an immediate ban.
Be respectful
Disagree with someone’s recommendation? Great — say why. Attack them personally? Not here. No harassment, bullying, threats, hate speech, or discrimination of any kind. This applies to other community members, restaurant staff, chefs, and anyone else.
No spam or self-promotion
Don’t post repetitive content, unsolicited ads, or affiliate links. Restaurant owners: you’re welcome to participate in the community, but disclose your affiliation. A chef recommending their own restaurant is valuable — a chef pretending to be a customer is not.
No gaming the system
Don’t create multiple accounts, use bots, organise like rings, or otherwise manipulate points, levels, or leaderboards. The reputation system only works if it reflects genuine contribution. Attempts to game it undermine everyone.
Protect privacy
Don’t share other people’s personal information without consent. No doxxing, no posting private conversations, no sharing photos of people without their permission.
Keep it relevant
This is a food and restaurant community. Off-topic posts, political debates, and content unrelated to dining will be removed. There are better places for those conversations.
What happens when guidelines are broken
We enforce a zero-tolerance policy for serious violations. Depending on severity:
Warning — for minor first-time offences. No guarantee of a warning before further action.
Content removal — offending posts or comments are removed immediately.
Temporary suspension — your account is locked for a period of time.
Permanent ban — loss of all points, levels, and community standing. Final, no appeal.
