Biography

Early years

Born in Barcelona, Silvia Hofmann grew up inside the culinary institution her mother Mey Hofmann founded in 1983. She established herself as an interior designer and raised a family in Milan before being called back to Barcelona to take the reins of the group at a transformative moment in its history.

Career

Today Silvia Hofmann is general director of the Hofmann Group — a portfolio that includes the one-Michelin-star Restaurant Hofmann (held since 2004), the long-established Hofmann culinary and pastry school, and a pastry shop. She has also created the Mey Hofmann Foundation, an initiative that provides support to women with cancer in honour of her mother's legacy.

Philosophy

Hofmann directs the group's strategic and operational vision rather than the day-to-day kitchen — the executive chef role at the restaurant is held by Diego Grimberg. Under her leadership the group continues its founding combination of fine dining, training, and pastry, anchored by the Hofmann name on Sant Gervasi.
