Santerra and Playing Solo close in the same September week
Santerra, the Michelin-starred game restaurant on General Pardiñas, has closed for good, and chef Luis Caballero's Michelin-recommended Playing Solo in Malasaña served its last service on 26 September 2026.
Santerra, the game-focused restaurant at General Pardiñas 56 that won a Michelin star in 2024, has closed for good. Chef Miguel Carretero, who built it from 2017 and twice won Madrid Fusión's croqueta contest (2018 and 2022), left in January, with his second, Máximo Benages, taking over. Its phone line no longer exists, bookings are shut and the premises are offered for lease; El Español reports the company entered pre-insolvency proceedings on 16 May 2026.
The same week, chef Luis Caballero announced the end of Playing Solo, his Michelin-recommended restaurant in Malasaña, with a last service on 26 September 2026. He wrote that the main reason was physical tiredness after four years, and called it the end of a first chapter rather than a goodbye.
