Merinas Bar y Ultramarinos is a neighbourhood bar on Calle del Alférez Juan Usera, in the San Isidro area of Carabanchel, opened in December 2022 by the actresses Lisi Linder, Lorena López and Marta Belenguer in what was the Merino brothers' grocery for some 40 years. The short, mostly cold carta leans on embutidos, conservas, bocadillos and molletes with nods to Cádiz and Valencia, and it holds a Repsol Solete. It's open Wednesday to Sunday from breakfast.

About Merinas
The Story
For around 40 years the Merino brothers sold bocadillos, cured meats and pastries from this Carabanchel corner. When they retired, the actresses Lisi Linder, Lorena López and Marta Belenguer took it on, partly as a plan B to an unstable profession, and after a year of works it reopened in December 2022 as Merinas, a name that nods to the old shop. A small counter still works as a grocery, and the bar has become a meeting point for the neighbourhood and for people from the acting world.

Bar cooking across the day. Breakfasts and bocadillos lead in the morning; later it's tapas and raciones, with chicharrón, ensaladilla rusa and tostas among them.
