PizzaBar and Garden Pizza, two Catalan pizzerias from outside the city, have landed in the Eixample

Two Catalan pizzerias that started outside Barcelona have opened in the Eixample this year. PizzaBar, which began in Sant Feliu de Boada in the Baix Empordà, is at Carrer de París 205, and Garden Pizza, founded in Sant Cugat in 2018, opened its first Barcelona restaurant on 27 May at Consell de Cent 401.

PizzaBar calls itself a gastronomic bar rather than a pizzeria. Its pizza sits somewhere between Neapolitan and Roman, from a dough recipe the owners keep to themselves, and the menu also runs to dishes like a fricandó bikini and croquettes, per Time Out. It's open seven days a week with an €18.60 lunch menu, and its founders are Rafa Blanc, José Bassols, Lali Rodellas and Helena Rodellas.

Garden Pizza's Barcelona restaurant seats more than 120 and is the chain's sixth. It makes modern Neapolitan pizza on organic, partially germinated Petra flour fermented for 48 to 72 hours, at around €15 a pizza, with eight vegan pizzas and gluten-free options. 50 Top Pizza ranks it the 25th best artisan pizza chain in the world and third in Spain.
