Six Barcelona bars land on the inaugural Europe's 50 Best Bars 2026 list, Sips ranks No. 3
Six Barcelona bars, including Sips at No. 3 and Paradiso at No. 9, placed on the inaugural Europe's 50 Best Bars list, revealed at a ceremony in Amsterdam on 30 June 2026.
Six Barcelona bars made Europe's 50 Best Bars 2026, the inaugural edition of a new continent-wide ranking from the organisation behind the World's 50 Best lists. The results were revealed at a ceremony in Amsterdam on 30 June 2026, sponsored by Perrier, with Athens bar Line taking the overall No. 1 spot. Sips in the Eixample was Barcelona's top finisher at No. 3, and the organisers also named it Best Bar in Spain 2026, an award sponsored by Torres Brandy. Founded in 2021 by Simone Caporale and Marc Álvarez, Sips previously won the World's Best Bar title outright in 2023.
The rest of Barcelona's contingent spans the city. Paradiso in El Born, entered through a fridge door behind a pastrami counter and founded by Giacomo Giannotti and Margarita Sader, placed No. 9; it held the World's Best Bar title in 2022, per the same 50 Best listing. Aldea, also in El Born and run by Silvia Dorninger and Fran Falco around a self-described 'farm-to-glass' philosophy, came in at No. 26.
Two more sit in Gràcia and one in Ciutat Vella. 14 De La Rosa, owned by Dean Shury with head bartender Alessia Fuscetti, ranked No. 35 for its Art Deco-leaning room and classics-first menu. Boadas, open on Carrer dels Tallers since 1933 when Miguel Boadas brought cocktail technique from Havana's El Floridita, placed No. 36; it's now run by the Sips team, Caporale and Álvarez, described in the listing as 'dedicated custodians' of the bar's history. Foco in Gràcia, led by British bartenders Tom Godfrey and Theo Quinn, both Paradiso and Two Schmucks alumni, rounded out the group at No. 48.
This is the inaugural edition of Europe's 50 Best Bars, so there's no prior year to measure Barcelona's showing against. Landing two bars in the top ten on a brand-new fifty-bar continental list is still a notable debut for the city.
