Casa Xica becomes La Xica, a Poble-sec tavern with Fede Salmón
Raquel Blasco and Marc Santamaria have closed Casa Xica after 12 years and reopened the Poble-sec space as La Xica, a tavern run with Fede Salmón (ex Palo Cortao), plus La Seca, a rotisserie at Plaça de Navas 2.
Casa Xica has closed: Raquel Blasco and Marc Santamaria are ending the Catalan-Asian restaurant after 12 years at Carrer de la França Xica 20. In its place, from 17 September, comes La Xica, a tavern they run with their friend and neighbour Fede Salmón, ex Palo Cortao.
Salmón calls the idea "taberneo fino": jamón from the Valle de los Pedroches, bravas, a bikini of pollo a l'ast with comté, croquetas and Montilla wines. The trio are also opening La Seca, a rotisserie and grocery at Plaça de Navas 2. The Casa Xica name lives on for festivals and pop-ups.
