Bunkers del Carmel
A 262-metre hill (Turó de la Rovira) with human occupation dating back to an Iberian settlement of the 4th century BC. During the Spanish Civil War, the Republican air-defence command installed an anti-aircraft battery here to defend against the bombing of the city; the guns were disabled during the Republican retreat in January 1939. The hill later held a shantytown until the 1990s, and in 2011 it was restored as a heritage site and outdoor museum, its 360-degree views making it a popular lookout.
