Revetlla de Sant Joan 2026
- Tue, 23 June 2026 – Wed, 24 June 2026
- 8pm–6am
- City-wide
The Revetlla de Sant Joan is Barcelona's wildest night, the city's summer solstice celebration on the night of 23 June 2026 into the early morning of 24 June. The whole city participates simultaneously: bonfires (fogueres) are lit along the entire coastline with Barceloneta as the epicentre, plus Bogatell, Mar Bella, Nova Icària and Platja del Fòrum, while 80+ neighbourhood verbenes run in plazas across town. The Flama del Canigó arrives at Plaça de Sant Jaume and is distributed to light the local bonfires. Coca de Sant Joan (the traditional flatbread topped with candied fruit, pine nuts and sometimes cream) is eaten everywhere, paired with cava; every bakery in Barcelona sells them in the days leading up, but the morning of 23 June is the deadline because they sell out by evening. Petards (firecrackers) crackle from 9 pm onwards, correfocs (fire-runs with dragons and devils) snake through several neighbourhoods, and many beaches host swims at midnight. Everything is completely free, no tickets or wristbands required. The Revetlla de Sant Joan Barcelona experience is the city at its most communal and most chaotic, simultaneously.
The most magical night in Barcelona, free and citywide. Buy your coca de Sant Joan from a local pastisseria the morning of 23 June (every bakery in town sells them, and they're all gone by 9 pm), claim a spot on Barceloneta or Bogatell before sunset, and pack earplugs because the petards do not stop until dawn.
