Calçofest is the festival that opens the calçotada season in Valls, the town the calçot is named after. Its second edition is on Saturday 21 November 2026 at El Fornàs, and it is built as a full day: free activities in the morning, a popular calçotada, and a long evening of concerts. It's music-heavy, so go if you want your calçots with a crowd and a stage, not a quiet lunch.

The food is the calçotada. A calçot is the long, sweet onion that Valls grows under its own protected designation, the IGP Calçot de Valls, and it's normally a winter dish. Holding it in November is the point: the organisers and the Ajuntament de Valls want to start the calçotada season early and bring calçots to the town before the usual rush. At the first edition the popular calçotada served 15,000 calçots, and the IGP's president said that would have been unthinkable in November a few years ago.

The morning is free and aimed at families, with dance, magic and circus on the programme and the children's folk show El Pony Menut as the main act. The press presentation also named the Colla Vella dels Xiquets de Valls and the Colla Joves Xiquets de Valls, the Gegant del Calçot, the Mulassa, the Ball de Gitanes and the Capgrossos de la Calçotada among the traditional groups taking part, with calçot tastings planned for the interval of the concerts, though that was still to be settled.

The evening is a ticketed concert. Doors open at 16:30, and the running order is Maria Jaume at 17:00, Els Amics de les Arts at 18:10, Els Pets at 19:35, Figa Flawas at 21:10, The Tyets at 22:45, 31 FAM at 00:20, Malifeta at 01:55, Coco at 03:15 and DJ Trapella at 04:20, with closing at 05:30. Figa Flawas, from Valls, close their tour here.

Tickets have moved in price. Tickets went on sale at 38 euros in November 2025 and were 45 euros plus booking fees at the June presentation. Children aged 6 to 12 pay 15 euros, and children from 0 to 5 pay 2 euros, a symbolic fee that counts them in the capacity and covers the wristband. Children's details go on the wristband. The first edition drew more than 10,000 people, and the organisers are aiming to sell out again.

Tickets are sold through the festival's official site, calcofest.cat.
