32a Mostra Gastronòmica de les Garrigues 2026

The Mostra Gastronòmica de les Garrigues is a restaurant event with a very clear idea: one ingredient, extra virgin olive oil from the comarca, runs through a full menu. This is the 32nd edition, and it lasts almost six weeks, from 7 November to 20 December 2026, so you can fit it around any weekend in the run.

Six restaurants take part, four in Les Borges Blanques (Hostal Benet & Art Oli d'Autor, Cafè Terrall, Masia Les Garrigues and El 9 Syrah), one in La Pobla de Cérvoles (Les Cuines de la Llena) and one in Tarrés (El Sindicat de Tarrés). Each one writes its own special menu, and every dish is cooked with Garrigues extra virgin olive oil.

The menus are worth reading before you choose. Hostal Benet's tasting menu starts with its own bread and the +Art oils, then moves through snacks and vermouth, a three-way take on carn d'olla (here as consommé with ham, a croquette and chickpea hummus), fish with grilled pepper, and venison loin with truffle. Masia Les Garrigues opens with a first-press oil tasting from the DOP Les Garrigues with toasted farmhouse bread and arbequina olives, then goes on to confit cod in arbequina oil and slow-roasted Garrigues lamb. El 9 Syrah uses the oil from the first bite to the last: a liquid bonbon of arbequina oil to start, a brioche made with olive oil, and a dark chocolate mousse with extra virgin oil and Garrigues almond to finish. Cafè Terrall leans on traditional recipes, including rice with botifarra and lamb meatballs with cuttlefish tagliatelle. Les Cuines de la Llena starts with an oil tasting and local bread, then serves a cannelloni of pork cheek with a ratafia reduction, and offers an optional wine pairing. El Sindicat de Tarrés brings in local truffle, snails, sturgeon and a porró of mistela from Fulleda.

Prices are per person for the set menu, VAT included, and wine isn't part of it: Masia Les Garrigues and El 9 Syrah charge 40 euros, El Sindicat de Tarrés 41.75, Cafè Terrall 42, Les Cuines de la Llena 42.50 and Hostal Benet 55. At El Sindicat de Tarrés, a recommended red or white costs 13.75 euros.

Book at least one day ahead. Tell the restaurant about allergies or intolerances when you reserve. At Masia Les Garrigues the whole table has to order the menu and you need at least two people, and Hostal Benet can prepare a vegetarian version with a few days' notice. Every diner can also ask the restaurant for a raffle ticket for one of six lots of Garrigues products, including oil, wine, nuts and honey, a gift from the Associació Leader de Ponent through its Gustum project.
