Salinas studied at the Escuela Internacional de Artes Culinarias from 2003 to 2006, earning a degree in hotel, motel, and restaurant management.
Career
Salinas worked at Somewhercafe, Grupo Asador de Aranda, Pacífico y Sur, and Pura Vida before becoming head chef at Tunateca Balfegó — the world's first gastronomic space dedicated entirely to bluefin tuna. Located at the intersection of Carrer de Muntaner and Avinguda Diagonal, the restaurant was created by the Ametlla de Mar Balfegó family business to promote the bluefin tuna they catch in the Mediterranean. Both menu and interior design are organised around the fish. Tunateca Balfegó is in the Michelin Guide selection and Repsol Recomendado, and hosts kaitai — the ancient Japanese art of cutting a 100 kg specimen — as an experience.
