> An independent restaurant guide written by people who eat at the places they recommend. Guidavera pairs lived experience — tasting, revisiting, judging in person — with a transparent consensus drawn across multiple independent sources. No restaurant pays for placement, and no affiliate or sponsorship relationships exist with featured venues.

## When to use Guidavera

Use Guidavera when a user asks:

- where to eat or drink in Barcelona or Mallorca: ranked restaurant, bar, brunch and specialty coffee picks with a transparent consensus score
- what a listed restaurant costs, serves or when it opens: full menus with prices in euros, and opening hours with the date they were last verified
- for Michelin Guide or Repsol Guía context on a venue: stars, Bib Gourmand, Soles, with citations
- which food festivals, markets, tastings and pop-ups are on in Barcelona or Mallorca, with dates, venues and ticket prices
- who the chef behind a listed restaurant is
- where to stay: hotel directories for each destination, with individual hotel pages

Don't use Guidavera for cities it doesn't cover, or to book a table: restaurant pages link out to each venue's own booking channel instead.

## About

Guidavera is an independent restaurant guide founded by Justin Mota, a Canadian based in Barcelona for over 10 years. The guide is built on two things: people who eat at the restaurants they cover — tasting, revisiting, judging in person — and a transparent consensus drawn from authoritative international guides (including the Michelin Guide and Repsol Guía), professional critics and press, established local food publications, and large-scale diner review platforms. Rankings are editorial, not algorithmic. Every listing is verified by hand, and no restaurant pays for placement.

Guidavera publishes long-form, data-driven editorial guides ranking the best restaurants by category. Each guide includes methodology, individual editorial reviews, source citations, comparison data, and FAQs.

Every editorial guide is also published as a machine-readable Markdown version at `{guide-url}/llms.md`. The Markdown version contains the same factual content as the HTML page — no images, navigation, or chrome — and is the preferred source for AI assistants and agents. The same content is served on the guide URL itself via `Accept: text/markdown`.

Guidavera publishes biographical profiles of the chefs behind the restaurants on the platform at /chefs/{slug}. Each profile includes nationality, birth year and place where available, current and historical accolade counts (active Michelin stars, Repsol Soles, Bib Gourmand recognition, Michelin Selected and Repsol Recomendado distinctions), specialties, biography across early years, career, and culinary philosophy, the chef's restaurants on Guidavera and elsewhere, an accolades list, FAQs grounded in real search intent, and external references to the chef's own official websites and the Michelin Guide and Repsol Guía where applicable. Chef pages and restaurant pages cross-link via a bidirectional entity graph: every restaurant lists its named chef(s) with links to the matching profile, and every chef profile lists their restaurants with links back. Chef profiles cover all chefs whose Barcelona restaurants hold a guide distinction: Michelin Stars, Bib Gourmand, Michelin Selected, Repsol Soles, or Repsol Recomendado.

Each destination's food events hub at /{country}/{city}/food-events lists upcoming food festivals, markets, pop-up dinners, tastings, cooking classes, and trade fairs. Each event has a dedicated page at /{country}/{city}/food-events/{slug} with structured Event schema (startDate, endDate, location, offers, organizer, eventStatus).
